Some patient stories along with prayer requests

The theme of these reports continues to be praises to God. It is so incredible to be here and to see first hand all the amazing things that God does everyday.
Yesterday we were able to transport 5 patients up from General Hospital. We are taking the ones that have closed fractures. When they arrive here the doctors are able to do surgery to reset the bones.
Today we are trying to receive 8 patients who are being flown up here with the military helicopters. They are trying to land about 10 minutes up the road in the Fort Jacques school soccer field. There have been many helicopters circling, but I'm not sure if any of landed yet. Pray that we can get this worked out and that this can become a regular method of patient transport. We are very grateful for the way that the US military has offered to help us in anyway they can. God is so good.

Pray for these patients who are coming up from downtown. Let me share about 2 of them. One that arrived yesterday is an 84 year old man. He has no family left and doesn't know what he is going to do once he recovers from his injuries.

Another lady that came here from General hospital was on top of a 3 story house cooking when the quake occurred. The whole house crumbled and she was the only one who survived. She lost her husband, 4 children and her brother. Pray that as she is here receiving physical treatment she would also know God's presence and that He would provide comfort for her in this very difficult time.

Malika is 7 year old girl who is from the Fort Jacques area, just up the road from the mission hospital. She was home alone during the quake and had many bricks fall on her. She was injured and has since had some chest problems. Her neighbors found her and she had just been sitting by her house for several days. They brought her to the hospital and she is receiving treatment now. She still has not heard from her parents. She knows that they were in Port-au-Prince the afternoon of the quake. She has no brothers or sisters, and is feeling very along right now. Pray for God's comfort and healing for Malika.

There are so many stories like this. Many people don't have any family, or home to go back to. They don't know what they are going to do once they are released from the hospital. Pray that God would comfort these people and give wisdom to those trying to provide aid so we can help people like this who have lost everything.

As we continue to work our current needs are food. Pray that God would provide food such as rice, beans, etc that would could distribute to the local communities. There are many hungry people and we are praying for wisdom and for God's provisions to be able to help them in some way.
