As of yesterday afternoon they had performed 57 surgeries since the quake. The doctors explained that every surgery they have done has been a major complicated surgery. They are not seeing any simple breaks or fractures. Many bones are crushed, making surgeries very difficult. They are also seeing a lot of infections. Many people have waited to come to the hospital and as a result they are having to do amputations. Pray that they will have wisdom to know how to perform these surgeries well and that they will be able to get to the most critical cases before it is too late.
We have an amazing team of doctors here who are using our 2 operating rooms for almost 12 hours a day. We also have a great group of nurses here who are working along side the national staff to care for the many patients.
Praise God for these doctors and nurses. Our national staff have been able to take a break at night and get some rest. This is such an answer to prayer.

We are so thankful for your updates. They help us to pray. Be assured that we are in watchful prayer for you each day. My job allows me to be awake through half the night, and my prayers are with you at that time, also.
